The natural health and wellness industry is the fastest growing economic sector in North America. It has doubled each year over the past ten years, from $10 billion in 1996 to $460 billion annually in the USA, and $80 billion annually in Canada.

Statistics show that during 2007, internet sales for wellness products amount to $138 billion dollars, and is projected to surpass $300 billion in five years’ time. Worldwide, the population aged 60 and over is growing faster than any other age group. The 60+ population, at 605 million today, will almost double by 2025, to 1.2 billion.

Businesses must prepare to meet the needs of an ageing population. Although some businesses have been wary of the potential liabilities of an older workforce, many recognise that changing demographics present significant business opportunity.

It is obvious that in near future there is going to be a huge demand on products, goods and services that will help baby boomers live a longer and stress free life. That’s why multi level marketing will reach its peak in the next 5-10 years as more companies will see in baby boomers the perfect target market that is willing to pay higher prices than any other consumers.

The future healthcare system will provide individualized approach for each patient as the medical treatments are based more and more on genetic and molecular tests.

No more paper work, piles of folders in the medical record system. The future is electronic medical records.

Telemedicine utilizes modern technology such as the Internet to connect patients and physicians in real-time.

Awareness and empowered consumers

Raising awareness among patients means informing them about the services and goods that are available for them, including price transparency, health care centers, free treatments, realistic expectations about various alternatives etc.
